The Kid Zone: A Gem-Show Wonderland for Kids
Located at Booth 1251 near the café and seating area, the Kid Zone is a dedicated space where children can let their imaginations soar. Open daily from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, this interactive area is packed with hands-on activities that combine fun and education in the most delightful way.
From crafting treasure chests to digging for ancient fossils, kids are encouraged to explore the world of gems and minerals through play. It’s the perfect place for kids to unwind, get creative, and connect with nature and science—all while giving parents a well-deserved moment to relax.

Each day at the Kid Zone brings opportunities for learning and discovery through exciting interactive stations:

Treasure Chest Crafting: Kids can design and decorate their very own treasure boxes—perfect for storing all the shiny keepsakes they discover at the show.

Arts & Crafts Station: A rotating variety of creative projects and activity kits will be available, encouraging artistic expression and hands-on engagement.

Dig Site Adventure: The Dino Dig area features two 4×4 sandboxes where kids can excavate hidden gems, mini fossils, and even plastic dinosaurs. Each child can keep up to five treasures they uncover. Digging tools like brooms and brushes are provided to help them play the part of junior paleontologists.
Special Saturday Fun: Face Painting & Hair Tinsel
If you’re planning your visit, make sure to swing by on Saturday, May 17, when the Kid Zone hosts two extra-special activities: Face Painting: A professional face painter will be on hand to transform little ones into butterflies, dinosaurs, unicorns, or anything their hearts desire. Hair Tinsel Styling: Add a sparkle to your child’s day with shimmering strands of tinsel woven into their hair by a professional stylist. These activities are not just visually fun—they’re memory makers your kids will talk about long after the gem show ends.
The Rubber Duck Treasure Hunt: Fun For Everyone
Beyond the Kid Zone, kids can take part in the popular Rubber Duck Treasure Hunt, a gem show-wide scavenger hunt designed to delight children and adults alike. Ducks are hidden throughout the public areas of the venue—no digging needed!
Find a Duck: Keep it, re-hide it, or snap a photo to share with us on Instagram or Facebook. Find a GOLD or SILVER Duck? Head to the Showcase Office (located near the main lobby) to claim a mystery prize! Ducks should never be hidden in vendor booths or food areas to keep the game fun and safe for everyone.
